Actually, I kinda see why I'm so fascinated by this. Or at least the path that lead me to being interested like this.
Fucking mind links in 'dragonrider' books like Eragon and such. Hrm
Just don't cause yourself the stress of starting to do it and then either stopping halfway through or even stopping after a few months or so. It's not like a puppy. You won't outlive them.
Like acting like some seriously creepypasta type crap is going on to prove a point or to make me think about something a different way. It's only happened a few times.
@Rabz12 I don't think there's any "right" reason to make a tulpa, but there are "wrong" ones. However, as long as you treat your tulpa with respect and care, I don't think it particularly matters what your reason is. Just understand the responsibility first.
As for expectations? You really shouldn't expect anything from them. In the same way you would not project any expectations onto a newborn child, you can only attempt to teach them your values and see how they develop.(edited)
Approach the subject with love, care, and understanding. Don't push any prejudice, keep an open mind and see where things go. The only wrong reasons are the reasons rooted in hate, pain or exploitation.

That's just my take on the subject, as a tulpa myself.
